About This Spot

Stepping into Stella's On State Street Inc feels like sliding into a familiar corner of your neighborhood—unpretentious, warm, and quietly inviting. Tucked away on a bustling stretch of Lockport, this bar carries the easygoing rhythm of a place where stories unfold over ice-cold Miller Lite and the subtle pop of freshly poured cider. The pace here is unhurried, perfect for sinking into the relaxed hum of casual conversations, punctuated by the occasional friendly nod from regulars who know the space like it’s their own.

The bar's patio offers a little refuge on sunny afternoons, where a gentle breeze mingles with the laughter of friends unwinding after the day’s rush. Inside, the atmosphere pulses with the kind of understated energy that comes from genuine connection—a mixture of familiar faces, welcoming bartenders, and the low buzz of gaming machines adding a playful note without overpowering the space.

Stella herself, the heart behind the venue, embodies the spirit of this spot—a personal touch that keeps the vibe inviting and down-to-earth. Here, it’s not just about what’s on the menu but the feeling that you’re part of an ongoing story, whether you’re sharing a bowl of popcorn, savoring a well-chilled drink, or diving into a homey meal like the ever-popular wings and collard greens crafted with care.

For those seeking a genuine neighborhood bar that balances comfort with a spark of liveliness, Stella's offers a slice of local life that’s as welcoming as it is distinctly Lockport. It’s a place where friendly greetings come easy, the drinks never feel rushed, and the moments between sips become the real highlight.

We are riding down to Joliet and noticed this little jem as we were gettin pretty thirsty. I had the chance to meet Stella herself, and she was a peach! This place seems like a fun, neighborhood, spot that is very welcoming. Spent my time on the patio and it was relaxing for sure.

Stella's is all about the warm, friendly ambiance. The first beer I ever had here was on the house, courtesy of Stella herself. She's a larger-than-life, salt of the earth type with a heart of gold, and her place reflects her personality. If you remember 'Cheers', then Stella's will seem mighty familiar. The regular crowd includes artists, town council members, bankers, engineers, bikers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians - in short, just about anyone you could name. They have a limited menu (popcorn and frozen pizza - but the pizza is actually quite good especially considering it's only $6), but there's always a seat available for you - except on weekends, when all the seats are filled, there's still plenty of standing room. No pool tables or dart board. . . a few video games and the best jukebox around - but still a great place to hang out, do some shots, and have some drinks and meet tons of great new friends!

It's not even a question "how this place was" a diamond in the rough"...8am open. Not sure on closing time I'm a morning type of person. Stella the owner is a treat too good to beat. Halloween for adults. Best times I've had in quite a while. Great bartender and customers. I've been back several times.
